Hello everyone, charlot-sweetie here to try and explain how the using your values can help break up your art so it's easier read and look nicer.
Values in terms of colours, are your greys~
Key point about most experinced artists is that they will block in the greys for artworks before adding colour or even lineart, so getting them right can make or break an image.
The grey tones help show to depth within the image or to help highlight a feature of the image, to practice this get a light grey, middle grey and dark grey use these colours to define important areas of your image.
The grays can also help you get a variety and balance of colours in your image, example:
Poor gray selection can lead to the muddy looking or boring pictures
